Summertime!

14 JUNE 2011

The UC Orchestra has packed up the instruments and the echos of 'Pomp and Circumstance' have subsided after the twin commencement ceremonies at UC's Shoemaker Center at Fifth Third Arena last Saturday. Congratulations and thank you to the newest UC graduates!

Now summer begins on campus. Summer classes are available starting on June 20. Some students will attend summer classes to 'get ahead' while others want to 'catch up' or focus everything on that one tough class. Whatever the case, there are a lot fewer students on campus during this term, so you'd think that the employees finally get a chance to catch their breath or take the entire summer off and travel around Europe.

Not the case!

Summertime is the season of new student orientation! For those who plan to begin classes in the Autumn on September 21, now is the time to finalize plans, paperwork, and funds. Here is a quick overview or checklist to follow:

- Forward official transcripts from high school and/or college (or provide a copy of GED scores).

- Take the UC Placement Test (513.732.5219).

- Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/).

- relax. ;-)

.

- Receive your 'acceptance letter' and return the 'confirmation form' that comes with it.

- Receive your invitation to Orientation and confirm when you will attend Orientation.

- Attend the Orientation session, where you will register for the classes you desire to take.

- Visit http://www.onestop.uc.edu/ by mid-August and click on 'my financial aid'. Then click on 'check my aid'. Now you will see what $ funding is available and need to choose what you want to accept.

- relax.

Classes begin Wednesday, September 21, 2011. See you then!!!

If you have questions, let me know. I'm glad to help.

Best regards,

Blaine
