-
Get some $$$ 4 College!
-
College Goal Sunday in Ohio is Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. - EST.  This event is offered across the state in 44 counties at 52 locations.
-
A full listing of sites and registration is available at: www.OhioCollegeGoalSunday.org
-
Residents on Hamilton, Brown, Adams and Clermont Counties can participate at the UC Clermont College campus in Batavia, OH:
-
4200 Clermont College Drive
Batavia, OH 45103
-
Participants will fill out and submit their FAFSA = Free Application for Federal Student Aid at College Goal Sunday.  This will determine the amount and type(s) of aid that will be offered to the student in the form of 'student loans' and possibly 'grants'.
-
Many schools in Ohio list 'priority' registration deadline for the FAFSA as February 15 each year.  If the student and/or parents have yet to file 2012 taxes, they can still complete the FAFSA at College Goal Sunday by noting that they 'will file' taxes at a later time and use 2011 tax numbers now.  Once 2012 taxes are completed and filed, the student and/or parents can return to the FAFSA to perform a 'correction', where they will change their filing status from 'will file' to 'already completed'.  Then adjust tax numbers to reflect what is on the 2012 form OR use the 'IRS Linking Tool' on the FAFSA to pull the required numbers directly from the IRS.
-
Those interested should register at www.OhioCollegeGoalSunday.org.
-
Things to bring to College Goal Sunday:
- Social Security Number
- Driver's License or State ID
- W2 tax forms (student and parent**)
- 1040 / 1040A / 1040EZ tax forms (student and parent**)
-
FYI: Students under age 24 will be required to include parents tax information on their FAFSA except in the case that the student is currently married, or has children, or is active duty military, or is estranged from their parents = meaning the parents are 1. deceased or 2. incarcerated or 3. whereabouts unknown or 4. the student has documentation of being legally placed under guardianship of a non parent.
