Back to work!

Spring Break 2007 has come and gone, so now it's time to get back to work!

We've just come to the end of Spring Quarter Week 1 and everyone seems to be back in the groove of school. The nice weather has certianly been a positive factor as 'the oval' (no relation to the famous OSU area) has been packed with students kickin' back between classes enjoying laughs and stories from Spring Break and their first days back in the classroom.

Back to work ... and then off to work.

For many, this is the home stretch, as they head toward graduation at the end of the quarter. Some will transition to Bachelor programs at other UC Colleges, NKU or Wilmigton College (Eastgate), while others will head into the workforce.

Southern Hills Career Center Tech Students @ UCC

On Friday, March 2, thirty Information Technology 11th & 12th graders from Southern Hills Career Center in Georgetown, Ohio visited UC Clermont with their teacher, Gar Seigla.

UC Clermont faculty members Andy Curran (Interactive Multimedia), Suguna Chundur (CIS Programming), Cindi Scibelli (CISCO Networking) and Cherie Zieleniewski (Simulation & Game Development) in addition to the entire UC Clermont Technology Support Staff headed by Mel Sweet worked with the students in various technology-based activities. Everyone seemed to have a great time! Here's to technology!

Money. Money, Money

It's Scholarship Time at UC Clermont!

Interested in some extra cash for college or hoping for a 'full ride'? Now is the time to get it ... or at least apply to get it. The 2007-2008 Academic Year, that is next September through June 2008, Scholarship Application is now available and needs to be turned in by March 30.

There are over 30 different scholarships available and many have multiple awards, but you need to apply to be considered. So, how do you apply? Good question. Call 513.732.5319 and ask for a Scholarship Application Booklet to be mailed to you. We'll get it out to you right away. Good luck! May the cash be with you!

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! UC CLERMONT IS #1!

March 3, 2007

UC Clermont Wins the USCAA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship in Portland, Maine. Stefan Dunn (Columbus, OH) scored 24 points as University of Cincinnati Clermont beat Penn State DuBois, 81-72. Dunn was named MVP of the Tournament. Allen Robinson (Cincinnati, OH) was named to the All-Tournamnet team who finished with 19 points and 6 rebounds.

The win was the 800th career win (200 high school and 600 college) for UC Clermont Coach John Hurley. Hurley was inducted into the National Junior College Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2004.

The 2006-07 UC Clermont College Men's Basketball Team included BJ Pleasant, John Stone, Don Porter, Stefan Dunn, Seth Steele, Todd Davis, Jeff Kinney; Willie Boyce, Harvey Eubanks, Brad Hosler, Maurice Brown, Allen Robinson, Head Coach John Hurley and Assistant Coach Anthony Robertson.

UC Clermont finished the regular season as ORCC Conference Champions with a Conference record of 17-1. Overall season record was 28-10.
